Conservation Sustainability Te Taiao

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concepts of conservation and sustainability by undertaking a variety of community conservation and beautification projects in the local community, utilising the skills learnt during this course. Students will be encouraged to assist in the planning, implementation and execution of their individual projects throughout the year.

Campus: Whitireia Campus, Porirua

Cost: FreeDays:Wednesday

Hours: 9:00am - 2:30pm (half hour lunch)

Equipment: Rain jacket and boots are supplied, students will need to wear appropriate outdoor clothing

Travel: This is provided free, subject to students meeting MoE requirements

Dates: Wednesday 9 February - Wednesday 9 November 2022 (34 weeks), normal school holidays apply

Application: Students must be enrolled in a secondary school in the Wellington region and be enrolled in the WTA by their secondary school

Interview: Students may be requested to attend an interview with a family member or school representative

Qualification: NCEA Level 2 & 3 with credit towards Vocational Pathways award

Credits: On successful completion of this Trades Academy Strand, students will have gained 23 credits being 11 Level 2 & 12 Level 3 credits
