New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering Theory (Level 3)

The aim of this programme is to provide students with introductory knowledge and practical skills for the electrical industry. Learn introductory electrical theory and regulations. Build practical skills such as circuit wiring. After qualifying, students can then go on to an apprenticeship.

What you will learn

Due to the large number of applications received for the February 7, 2022 NZ Certificate in Electrical Engineering Theory (L3) offering in Petone, this intake is now full. Students are still able to apply for the other intakes.

Start your career as an electrician. Learn the skills and theory that an electrician needs in their daily work. This course will give you broad-based training in all aspects of the industry. Designed to prepare you for an apprenticeship. Learn introductory electrical theory and regulations. Build practical skills such as circuit wiring and how to use power instruments. Train in our workshops where you'll diagnose and fix electrical faults.

  • Gain an understanding of electrical theory and practical skills

  • Carry out practical wiring and testing of electrical systems
