Bachelor of Nursing Māori

Nau mai, haere mai ki te Kuratini O Whitireia. The Bachelor Nursing Māori programme is kaupapa Māori orientated to support your learner journey to become a registered nurse with the Nursing Council New Zealand. Your learner journey traverses Te Ao Māori and Te Ao Tapuhi (Nursing). By the end of your three years of study you will be ready to sit your Nursing Council State Examination. You will have demonstrated that you’re competent culturally and clinically, and will be able to practice as a Registered Nurse both in Aotearoa and overseas. Fluency in te reo Māori is not essential to apply for this programme.

Bachelor of Nursing Pacific

Afio mai, Ulu tonu mai. Turou oro mai ki te Apii Tuatoru o Whitireia. Throughout your learning journey you’ll integrate your knowledge of Pacific communities, cultural practices and nursing knowledge to improve health outcomes for Pacific peoples and the wider Aotearoa New Zealand community and overseas. On successful completion of this programme graduates receive the Bachelor of Nursing Pacific, are eligible to sit the Nursing
Council State Finals, and can apply to enrol in postgraduate programmes of study.

Become an enrolled nurse, working under the direction of a registered nurse, to provide nursing care to individuals in community, residential and hospital settings.

The Graduate Diploma in Nursing Pacific’s goal is to support Pacific trained nurses to finish their qualification, and to become registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Throughout your learning journey you’ll integrate your knowledge of Pacific communities, cultural practices, and nursing knowledge to improve health outcomes for Pacific peoples and the wider Aotearoa New Zealand Community and overseas

Postgraduate Certificate in Primary Health Care Specialty Nursing

This programme is for registered nurses, working in community and primary health Well Child Tamariki Ora services. This postgraduate qualification is delivered in partnership with Whānau Āwhina (Plunket). Credits may be gained towards Master's study.
