Find Your Circle at Whitireia and WelTec

Published on

Thinking about your next step into study? Whitireia and WelTec’s new campaign, Find Your Circle, is all about the connections that help you succeed—inside and outside the classroom.

The campaign features ākonga (students) and kaimahi (staff) from programmes including Carpentry, Counselling, Digital Media, Engineering, Hairdressing, Paramedicine, and IT. Filmed across the Whitireia Porirua campus, and the Petone and Construction campuses, it shows how learning happens not just in classrooms, but in the everyday moments shared with friends, whānau, and your wider study community.

The footage is designed to highlight the Whitireia and WelTec campuses within the context of their surrounding communities. Key scenes were filmed near the Petone Recreation Ground, along Jackson Street in Petone, inside Kai Tahi Porirua, and along Te Awarua-o-Porirua (Porirua Harbour) foreshore - providing strong local reference points.

Whitireia and WelTec is known for high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes, with course completion rates consistently above 80%. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to retrain, there’s a place for you here. With many programmes experiencing high volumes of applications, the campaign aims to help those who are still considering options for future study.

“Choosing to study is a big decision,” says Dr Leanne Ivil, Operations Lead. “We want ākonga to feel confident, supported, and part of a vibrant learning community.”

Find Your Circle will be seen across Wellington this summer—online and in public spaces. It’s your invitation to explore what’s possible in 2026.
