Home Sweet Home: Student Success in National Typography Competition
Students from our Digital Media & Design programme recently took part in the annual GSM Magazine Typography Calendar Competition, produced by BjBall for the Australia and New Zealand graphic design industry. This year’s theme, “Home Sweet Home,” invited students to express what home meant to them through a 2–5 word typographic phrase.
As part of their course, students created three original phrases, developed typographic compositions, and produced short animations. Their strongest design was then reworked into a poster for submission to the competition.
We’re proud to announce that two of our students, Brant Foesther and Jayden Yap, an international student, were selected as winners. Their designs will be published in the BjBall 2026 Typography Calendar — a fantastic achievement and a wonderful showcase of creativity from our ākonga. See Brant's "Tides May Change" Poster to the right, and follow the link below to see the classes animated designs.
