Programme outline
For registered health professionals wanting to extend their knowledge, advance their professional practice and develop enhanced leadership abilities to better meet the needs of populations within the Aotearoa New Zealand context. Students select one of the following endorsements:
- Pacific Health and Nursing
- Māori Health and Nursing
- Addiction
- Child/Youth Health
- Mental Health
- Nursing
- Older Adult Health
- Palliative Care
- Perioperative
- Primary Health
- Trauma and Emergency Care
Entry requirements
Domestic students
Bachelors degree or equivalent. Pacific Health and Nursing strand: registered nurse with a current New Zealand practising certificate; three or more years registered nurse practice, employment for a minimum of three days per week and evidence of employer support.
International students
IELTS 7.0 Academic, IELTS 7.0 in each band or equivalent.

*International fee displayed is for 1 year of study (equivalent to 120 credits) and does not include insurance and administration (approximately $924 per year of study).
Offering institute
This qualification is offered by Whitireia.
From 2023, Whitireia and the programme you have enrolled in will become part of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology. All programmes offered by Whitireia and other subsidiaries of Te Pūkenga are under review, to ensure they are portable, consistent and aligned with the needs of industry.
